This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students learn and play better when they don't have to worry about having food. My school has extra curricular activities after school. Those days are long, especially for the sports games. Those game days start 3 hours after school is dismissed. Our students are very determined and competitive with their activities and do much better when they are taken care of with a snack with fruit, protein, and once in awhile a special treat.
This variety of snacks will help students get through the long days while also getting a boost of energy.
For some of our students, they rely on school for their food. Sports play such an important role in their being able to learn collaborative skills, social skills, and accountability.
In addition to the food, it is important to also have proper equipment. While we have access to all the sport equipment needed, an electric pump makes it much easier to quickly inflate the balls for a proper practice and game. We appreciate your help in pumping up our goals to have enough food that none of our students will be hungry on the late game days during the upcoming 25-26 school year.
