Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach children in a low-income and high poverty neighborhood in the inner city of Los Angeles. At this Title I school, 100% of my students receive free and reduced lunch.
Though their economic standing has them encountering many challenges, struggling to receive an exemplary education will not be one of them, as far as I am concerned.
My hope is to provide my students with the highest expectations so that they can succeed in their lives, education, and careers. To help me do that, I need resources that these student may not have readily available.
My Project
Earlier this year, I had the honor of getting the project, Let's Have a Ball, fully funded. This brought 66 balls into my classroom, which was absolutely fantastic. However, a problem has presented itself with this project, I need to constantly pump up these balls so that my students could use them to their full potential! I also wanted to add some flat flying discs to my students physical education equipment to add more versatility in the activities we do.
Ball don't bounce without air, so help me bring a functioning ball pump in the classroom.
