Pull Up a Stool and Learn for Awhile!

My Students

I am very excited to be at my school, and I have a great new bunch of boys and girls this year. I teach in a small school where the student population is very, very diverse. The diversity is exciting! Boys and girls from all over the world are beginning their academic lives and growing together as they do it. Many of these families are not only new to our area but are also new to our country. It is wonderfully encouraging to me as an adult to see boys and girls of all different colors, different cultures, and many different languages getting along with each other and helping one another become the best kindergartner they can be.

We work and play together, always moving towards the goal of becoming excellent students and world citizens!!

They inspire me with their courage and hard work every day. I love teaching and learning from them.

My Project

We have a small classroom in an older building. We have worked hard to make our classroom welcoming and a fun place to learn. At this point, we do not have enough seating for there to be chairs/stools at the computer center or reading table. The boys and girls have to move the chairs to their different learning centers. The moving of chairs takes time from learning and as you can imagine at times can become problematic. ;0)

By helping us purchase these "cool stools" gives the students a special place to sit during their time at our Learning Centers.

It is amazing to us how excited our boys and girls are when we make small strategic changes to our classroom environment. We believe this unique addition to our classroom will make a significant difference in our student's enthusiasm for learning at our centers.
