This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This material will be used in our classroom throughout the writing process. My children are currently learning how to develop a literary essay. They are learning all the components that go into making their writing a final publishing piece that they can be proud of. They have been working very hard over the last couple of weeks by creating a "claim" and finding evidence to support their claim. When the children go to publish their writing pieces, they will have the materials needed. This will bring smiles to their faces as they see their hard work displayed on this fancy colorful paper and post -its as they draft their essay. Throughout this process the children will be using post-its to amend their writing by adding and adjusting their sentences and paragraphs. The pens will be used to proof read and make any corrections before publishing their final piece. Lastly, the colored lined paper will be used to display their final literary essay. Instead of a drab, white sheet of loose leaf to display their published piece on the walls of our classroom, why not brighten our walls with brightly colored loose leaf that will make their essays stand out from each other.
