This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second-grade gifted students are curious, creative, and full of big ideas they love to express through writing. In our classroom, we have a writing center table that’s meant to inspire their creativity—but right now, it sits unused because we don’t have the supplies needed to bring it to life.

By adding blank hardcover books, colorful art supplies, and Cricut materials, my students will be able to write, illustrate, and design their very own books.

They’ll use the Cricut machine to personalize covers, create title pages, and design bookmarks—turning their writing into polished, professional books they can share with pride.

I also hope to add a second Cricut machine so more students can create at the same time, encouraging collaboration and keeping their creativity flowing. This will ensure every student has a chance to design without waiting, making the publishing process even more exciting.

My students are eager learners who thrive on challenges and love bringing their ideas to life. With your support, we can turn our writing center into a publishing hub, helping these young authors share their voices with the world.
