This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever worked diligently on an assignment and later found out that you do not have a printer? As we use more technology in the classroom, I am finding that the more we incorporate, the more we need! Having a printer in our classroom will allow students to publish their work as they create it!
My students are natural born scientists, and are always asking questions.
I teach at a small Title 1 school, approximately 350 students, with an amazing and supportive principal. My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them. Everything is a potential investigation/experiment to them so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project based opportunities as possible. I enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible. Because of our size, funding levels are not as high as other schools that have larger enrollments. With the help of parent volunteers and other sources, our school thrives and student achievement is high. I truly believe that the future lies in our children, that they have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
We are using technology more and more in the classroom. Students are writing stories, learning how to make and present PowerPoint presentations, and creating reports and projects digitally more than ever. My challenge is to be able to print student work in a timely manner. I do not have a printer in my classroom, and most students do not have a printer at home. When I can, I bring their work home and use my personal printer but that is not the best solution. Students want to be able to see and edit their work as they do it, and not wait for their teacher to remember to print it!
Having a printer that is totally dedicated for students to use will enhance productivity and inspire students to create and complete their projects. Immediate feedback is always best and this donation will provide that and more for my students!
Your donation will make an immediate impact on the learning environment in my classroom.
Students desire to to print their work and display it in the classrooms, and they also want to read each others' work. This printer will enable them to publish their work, and share it with their classmates, families and the school community.
