Public Art to Honor Lives Lost

Help me give my students the supplies they need to create a public work of art to commemorate and honor the 11 people killed at the Tree of Life Synagogue five years ago.

My Project

October 27, 2023 marks the 5 year anniversary of the shootings at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA. I would like my 6, 7, and 8th grade art club students to create art that will honor the 11 lives lost. Their project will be viewed by the public at a commemoration. The goal of the project is to have students engage in conversation about the event and how we can honor the 11 who were killed. I want them to know art is meaningful to not only the artist, but also the audience.
