Puberty Education For Girls In Need

Help me give my students puberty kits to help them navigate through this challenging time in their lives. The state of Arizona no longer allows us to provide puberty education for our students in fourth grade.

My Project

The state of Arizona no longer allows us to provide puberty education for our 4th graders. We are working on a plan to provide resources and education to our students as we have many students that are getting their periods as early as fourth grade. We want to create a safe space for our young ladies to fully understand that the changes they are going through are normal and help them to be educated and prepared.

Once the school year is complete, we will be hosting a workshop outside of regular school hours to help our young ladies learn about their changing bodies and emotions.

We will provide pamphlets, workbooks (teacher created) and provide each student with a special pencil pouch, which contains wipes, various pads, and panty liners. All of the leftover materials will go towards our menstruation cart that we have in our counseling area near the bathrooms for our young ladies to utilize. This cart now contains extra underwear in various sizes (wipes included), pads, pantyliners, and deodorant.

Our students that did not have this curriculum during the pandemic suffered and struggled through puberty without having our program in place. We now have to find a work around to be able to provide our students with the proper education and resources to help them feel safe and normal!
