My Project
I love that my students are resilient and and are always willing to try something new. My goal for having these items available for every student is to help take the pressure off of the students whose parents can't supply what is needed for them to be successful. Often times many students can't provide everything that is required and it becomes a hindrance for them. School does not give teachers supplies and the lack of scissors and tape or pencils makes it take longer to get things done in class when students have to share supplies. Being able to give every student a spiral on the first day of school, instead of waiting until they are able to get them will help start the year off strong and everyone will be on the same page from day one.
I believe that by having the items on my list will make everyone feel successful from the first day of school.
A quality pencil sharpener will help the line at the sharpener be faster and ensure more work is able to be done. When completing math problems, students are more willing to participate if we can use mini white boards and markers, and if we have erasers, there will not be a waste of paper towels or dirt on their hands or clothes. Students can quickly share answers to see if they are correct or easily make edits to their math work.
