This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our learning starts in the classroom from the moment the students arrive. They are eager to learn everything the world has to offer.
They are a group of Pre-K students that are eagerly looking to become independent individuals.
The first thing the students learn is independence. They are exploring the classroom and eager to expand their learning through play but it all begins by learning to take responsibility for their personal belongings. Students learn the arrival routine where they learn to put their coats, backpacks, and blankets in their personal space. This allows students to become responsible and take ownership of their own things.
My Project
Having a library that can enhance student learning is important. I teach a Dual Language Pre-K classroom that needs more books in Spanish, books to help student learn about different emotions and books that expose 4 year olds to different cultures around them.
Reading is one of the ways which children learn; I would like to exposed them to as much text as possible so they are better prepared for different situations and the world around them.
Books have become a way in which students learn and develop their thinking and it allows teachers to expose students and enhance their learning.
