Providing Hands-on Learning for the STEM Leaders of Tomorrow
Help me give my students K'NEX Education Intro to Simple Machines kits for our introduction to simple machines and physics. Research shows that student centered, hands on STEM activities promote more learning than any textbook.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds of experiences and families.
Each and every one brings something special to the classroom.
Many of my students are bilingual, or are learning English for the very first time. I am so proud of the students who have worked to translate with them or created a welcome environment for all backgrounds.
Coming to middle school for the very first time, they are all so excited to learn about STEM oriented fields. I hope to give them an enriching environment!
My Project
In this request are KINEX Intro. to Simple Machines kits for building simple and complex machines.
The greatest way for students to learn engineering is by participation.
Many of my kids are English Language Learners and often feel alienated by the dated textbook or by writing unfamiliar vocabulary words. Having these kits provides a way for all students to learn in an inclusive, engaging way.
Middle school is an integral year for building relations and developing social skills. Working in groups is a critical part of school and employment and want to foster that through community building. These engaging kits require and foster the teamwork I would love to see in my classroom.
