My students need books that they can use during DEAR (Drop everything and read) time. I would also love to create a lending library for my students where they can borrow books to read at home.

My Students
My students attend a Title I school in a high needs area where they receive free breakfast and lunch each day. Many of these students live in poverty.
My 5th grade class consists of students with disabilities.
The students are classified as having speech and language disabilities and learning disabilities as well as having Emotional Disabilities. Fund this project and my students will have the opportunity to excel in the classroom. They are a very excited group and looking forward to an amazing year!! These boys struggle to express themselves verbally and enjoy being able to express themselves through art or often escape into a book. The boys' families are unable to provide books and supplies for them at home or at school. Many of them love to read and draw, but do not have books or art supplies that are available to them. Please help me create a lending library and art corner, where I can provide the boys with the needed materials to succeed.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The paper, markers, crayons and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may create projects. The organizational basket will be placed on the shelf in the back of our classroom and will help the paper remain organized so the process of creating runs smoothly from day to day. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' everyday lives and give them a means of escape from what they deal with on a day to day basis.The books will not only provide a world of education, but they will allow the students to escape into the books to avoid the tough lives they live everyday. although I can provide the emotional support, I truly need your support to make this a reality.
