This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a class of autistic seniors many of which aspire to attend college next year. One of my students in particular is in need of an accessibility device. He will benefit from the technology an IPad can provide for note-taking, organization, and recording. Previously he had a scribe, but currently he uses my tablet to do all of his math assignments. With his own IPad he will be able to complete math assignments at home as well as study, read/annotate articles, and review his notes.
I am hoping we can provide him this device soon so he can practice and be ready for the transition to college.
Using this device instead of a scribe will foster independence in him. In turn this device will support his learning tremendously in college.
