Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Despite the often unfair and misguided stereotypes of students from the inner-city, my 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students continue to excel and perform beyond the expectations much of society has placed on them. Students who come from inner-city communities have more to prove and work hard to break the stigma of the school and community in which they live. This tenacity makes them special and incomparable to students from other communities. They focus on bettering themselves and finding ways to make their family, school, and community proud.
My Project
Research has shown that there is a strong correlation between the cleanliness of a classroom and student academic achievement. The requested supplies will not only provide a safe and clean classroom environment, but also one filled with the resources necessary for the students to succeed.
To our students, school is "home away from home," and where many children feel the safest.
Please help me provide a welcoming classroom environment for my students where they can make use of the resources available to them, as well as a place they can come to when they feel the need to do so.
