This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have a school gardening club composed of hardworking students who care about the environment. Our main focus is to plant California native plants that promote the health and reproduction of monarch butterflies. In addition, we want to educate our community by planting native flowers and saving water throughout the gardening process. We already have rainwater harvesting barrels that would keep water during our dry months.
Nonetheless, we still need a hose and a gardening bed to continue planting native plants, specially our native milkweed plant.
Our students will make great use of all materials requested in this project, including the gardening soil, native plant seeds, and the classroom decorations they requested.
