My Students
Electronics have become a large part of the learning process for today's students. At school is the only place most students have access to digital learning. My special needs students have benefited from the use of the iPads that have been donated from this website! 2 more iPads have been donated to my class from a friend and we need protective cases for them.
Our school is a Title 1 school where more then 50% of the students come from low income families in Nashville.
The population of the community is largely diverse. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse public schools with students coming from more than 20 different countries. Several students do not have the support they need at home to be successful at school because of 1 parent homes, non-English speaking homes, and poverty stricken homes. Social emotional deficits, emotional disturbance, high functioning autism, ADHD, speech and language impairments, specific learning disabilities, and more make up the students I work with in my classroom. These students need even more support!
My Project
My students have disabilities that affect the way they learn. I have a variety of reading and math levels in my classroom. Having iPads helps me to be able to differentiate to their needs. The students love using the iPads to enhance their learning experience. Since my last donation project, I have received 2 more iPads donated to my class from a friend! These new iPads need protection.
Your donation will help extend the life of the new iPads for many years and many students to come.
iPads are an expensive piece of equipment and need to be protected against reckless behavior. With the iPads protected, I can focus on the learning and not the worry of the iPads getting broken. My students have increased in their reading and math scores, and because they get to see their growth, their confidence in their ability has also increased!
In addition to iPad cases, my class need cushions that help my students with sensory processing. These cushions are specifically made to support sensory input that some students need to be able to focus in class. With better focus comes better results in learning.
