Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are Spanish speakers at home and receive both English & Spanish instruction. Most receive free lunch and do not have technology at home. Harvey took away most of their homes. But it is so amazing to see how they make an effort to overcome that reality. They come to school so eager to learn.Their socioeconomic disadvantage hinders them from competing with others. They are limited on life experiences outside of their neighborhood. They are so hard working and dedicated to being successful.
My Project
We just got new iPad for our iStation center and even though we are so thrilled about it we are also worried they might break since we don't have the protective case for them. Having the protective case would make a huge difference since the iPads are used by the children and they are not always on the carpet. Our iPads are used daily so the risk of breaking or damaging our iPads is real and constant. Students are in charge of passing the iPad out and then rotate to anther station so a new group of students get to use the iPads. We really need these cases.
