I teach in a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles. Our school is a close knit family, and our students quickly become a part of that. I believe relationships are key in helping me meet my students where they are and move them to the next level.
Many of my fifth graders are beginning to set serious goals about their futures.
It is important to me to value those goals and help them realize, even at a young age, what it takes to achieve them.
My Project
Thanks to Title I, I have a class set of iPads. This opportunity has really transformed the way I think about instruction and assessment. It has opened the door for me to do so many wonderful things in my classroom and gives my students access to such a wide variety of tools and resources.
These cases would not only protect our iPads, but would also give students a stand which allows them to work hands-free to complete research, read and respond to writing prompts, watch videos and complete science experiments, along with many other educational activities.
Your investment in this project would go beyond one class of students. These cases would benefit students for years to come.
Students today need to work with technology on a regular basis. They need to prepare for careers that may not even be thought of yet. Giving them a variety of experiences now helps to foster creative and innovative thinkers.
