This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach English language learners in a Title I public school in New York City. Most of my students come from Hispanic backgrounds where Spanish is the dominant language spoken at home. My students are always excited to learn new things. They face challenges in learning the English language; however, they have the willingness to learn and do their absolute best every day. As an ELL teacher, I get the opportunity to work with my students for multiple years and I always love to see the growth in their academics from year to year.
We use many different learning resources in my ENL classroom.
We need to use various resources to help support our students in their various learning styles.
The laminating sheets will be used to protect learning materials in our classroom such as alphabet charts, sight word charts, SEL charts, printable books, literacy games, math games, and small anchor charts for content-area instruction. These kinds of resources are important for students to have to support their learning. It's important that we have these resources last throughout the school year and beyond.

Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
