Proper Seating Needed

My Students

I am a Preschool teacher in a Blended classroom of children ages 3-5 years old. My class is full day, which includes Diverse Learners. Approximately 95% - 97% of my students are from low income families. These families rely on us to provide their children with quality learning experiences that meet their individual needs no matter their developmental level or physical abilities.

We are located on the far South East Side of Chicago, where the student population is comprised of a majority African American and/or Hispanic background.

In addition to children from the surrounding community, we also service students from across the city. Many of these students are bussed to school and attend other paid programs before or after they come to us.

My Project

As we are all currently engaged in remote learning, sitting in front of a computer screen 90% of the day, has become the norm. While students are at home and able to adjust their seating, using child sized tables and chairs or using booster seating at the dining room table, their teacher doesn't have that option. I am in need proper seating in my Pre-K classroom, in which the tables are child sized and I only have access to a stand up computer desk/cart. Having proper height seating will allow me to completely focus on my students rather than back pain. Our instruction time will be filled with fewer back stretching sessions, and more fun movement activities!
