Help me give my students art supplies for the opportunity to create multi-dimensional and engaging projects to express themselves and learn about art.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first-year art teacher at my school, I am excited to share my passion for art with students. This year, the high school is being constructed, so classes are held off-site in a nearby church. Though in a non-traditional art room, I look forward to offering my students every opportunity to learn and create with various mediums. Additionally, many of the students are first-generation Americans who come from lower socioeconomic households and are unable to purchase supplies for both the art class and art club for this new high school, nor do they have the opportunity to experiment with art in their homes.
Among the projects planned, I particularly look forward to teaching the students the techniques of watercolor, methods of molding clay, and creative ways to express themselves through a self-portrait.
I strive to make my classroom a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can explore their creativity and have an outlet for self-expression. For example, I plan to instruct students in blind contour to create self-portraits void of any expectations so students can feel free to create in a judgment-free environment. My goals with these supplies are for students to feel free to de-stress from home and school pressures and design creative accomplishments that are beautiful, abstract, fun, engaging, and a mirror of their true selves.
These amazing young people, many of whom are being introduced to art for the first time, will benefit greatly from watercolors, clay, and other supplies to develop their inner artists.
