My Students
Fifth grade is an important grade because it is when they start to become individuals and really begin to think about who they want to become. They may not be ready to choose a career path, but are deciding if they are going to give it their all to do well in school, sports, and friendships. My students give it their all, all day, every day! Technology helps me motivate them!
Unfortunately, our school receives very little funding for resources like technology and technology-related supplies.
We do the best we can to share among classes, but the continuous use of technology, daily, will help them become more proficient and motivated. Help me, help them!
My Project
As a twenty-first century teacher, I am trying to tap into my students' interests and creative outlets to help them acquire and demonstrate knowledge and learning. The students are always asking, "Can you get us a 3D printer?" They may finally get what they have been asking for.
The students will use these 3D printing pens to create scenes from their narratives, make inspirational bookmarks using themes from literature, and explore scientific principals through STEAM projects.
These pens and plastics will be a great way to tap into the artistic side of my students and ensure students of all multiple intelligences are engaged and celebrated.
