This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When our students started at home learning in March we did not have technology to send home with them. They started at home learning with educational packets and we supported them through telephone calls. 3 weeks into remote learning our school district was able to provide all students in our district with technology. This was great, but many parents were unable to support their child's remote learning because they were working or unfamiliar with the technology that was provided.
During the 2020-2021 school, I want to support parents with not only technological support, but also traditional learning tools that they can use at home to help continue their child's learning.
Many of the families in our district were affected financially because of the stay at home order and we would like to do what we can to help ease the transition and difficulties that may come with the new school year.
My Project
We will be using these materials as a way to organize our at school and at home learning. The students will take these materials home with them each day that will have their work organized and will include resources that will help support them during remote learning.
These materials will be a part of our remote desks.
Students will have all of the materials that they need to continue learning at home. This will also help me, as the teacher, know what materials they have and that I can ask them to use during our remote lessons. During this time when learning may go back and forth from school to home, it is important that students have a way to stay organized.
