Physical education has holistic benefits for all students!
Physical education classes in schools may be the only place most of our students get an opportunity to learn the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
For some of our students, it is the main source of their daily physical activity and the only opportunity they have to develop these skills.
Additionally, we all know that engaging in physical activity increases classroom performance. But it is more than learning how to play a particular sport. For students with special needs, engaging in a physical education program allows them to practice self-regulation, it increases attention span, as well as on-task behavior. It helps teach our students how to problem solve and make decisions.
