Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Mentally healthy students are more likely to go to school ready to learn, actively engage in school activities, have supportive and caring connections with adults and young people, use appropriate problem-solving skills, have nonaggressive behaviors, and add to positive school culture.

As mental health school counselors one of our goals is to create a safe space for students who are struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, and grief.

Many of our students do not have the necessary tools to deal with the stress that school and home create. With your donations, we hope to provide tangible strategies to support our counseling services and have a greater impact on our school.

We plan to use the social-emotional learning items in our one on one counseling as well as in our counseling groups. Items such as the speaker will be used to create a calm space where students can color, journal, or relax when they are not feeling their best.
