This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are all from economically disadvantaged homes and school is their safe haven. Feeding their tummies is as important as feeding their minds. I know from experience that children learn and grow stronger when I can feed their bodies and minds. I am not only teaching my students to read but I am addressing their basic needs. I am proud to teach these young people and they consistently encourage me to dig deeper and strive to meet their needs by offering them a safe, consistent and encouraging learning environment.
