Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our Title I school is full of wonderful students that come from all walks of life. Many of them participate in the free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch program. Even though we have students that have a difficult time bringing the basic supplies to school, they come to school ready and eager to learn.

Our students enter the doors of our colorful school knowing that the staff is prepared to help them reach their potential of being college and career ready.

My Project

This school year we are promoting kindness. In addition to discussing random acts of kindness with my homeroom students, we have read books that promote kindness. We also discussed ways we can show kindness every day. My students have shown kindness in many ways from holding the door open for someone to handing out special notes with nice sayings like, "You are amazing!"

Even though we promote kindness at all times, we are planning another kindness week where my students will take part in special activities that involve being kind.

My students would love to have a shirt that promotes kindness to wear not only on a specific day that week, but any time they feel they need to remind others to be kind. Your donation to this project will help my students receive a shirt to wear that promotes kindness to all.
