This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 6th-grade students are an energetic, curious, and rapidly growing group of young learners. As they transition from childhood into adolescence, many are navigating new challenges—socially, emotionally, and physically. For many of them, school is not just a place to learn academic subjects, but also where they develop lifelong habits and social skills.

Our school serves a diverse population, and many of my students come from low-income households where access to hygiene products isn't always guaranteed.

Despite these challenges, my students show up every day eager to learn and grow into the best versions of themselves.

As students go through puberty, maintaining hygiene becomes more important than ever—not just for their health, but for their confidence and social interactions. Unfortunately, not all students have access to these everyday essentials. By providing them in class, we’re ensuring that every child has the tools to take care of themselves and feel confident throughout the school day.

This project will provide toothbrush kits for each student, toothpaste, and deodorant.
