Promoting Healthy Snacks

My Students

Our school is a public PreK-8th grade school with a population of 500 students. We're located in an urban area. All of our students are considered at-risk and they all receive free lunch. We also have 5 special needs classes in our building

While the area around the school is filled with vacant lots, abandoned homes, buildings and cars, our students enter the building ready and eager to learn.

Most of them encounter challenges with having basic needs in life, but many do not succumb to feelings of hopelessness nor anger. Instead, they try their best in all that they do.

My Project

This project would allow my special needs students to promote healthy snacks during the school day. The rolling cart will allow the students to push the cart around the school to sale healthy snacks to students that's good tasting and nutritional.

The students will not only promote healthy snacks but this will also help them with their communication, memory and money skills.

The different color bins will allow my students to stay organized and clearly view the inventory for restocking items. The cart will also allow the younger students in the school to view the healthy snacks at eye level for purchasing.
