Help me give my students the smoothest start to this school year! These materials will promote equity in my classroom. Students will have access to technology with comfortable headphones and a clean, safe place to store their materials.
My school serves approximately 440 students and is part of a smaller district in Southern California. It is a sought-after elementary school in the community because expectations are high and students are challenged to achieve to their highest potential.
The staff members at my school truly believe that all children can and will learn, and we are committed to identifying strategies to reach and maintain this vision.
My Project
The 2020/21 school year was a challenge for EVERYONE! Parents and teachers were stretched thin, being asked to step way outside their comfort zone financially and emotionally. I would like to get this new year started on the right foot by providing essential supplies for my students without having to ask parents for additonal funds. Being able to provide headphones and pencil bags for all my students will help promote equity.
I am very excited to be able to bring flexible seating back to my classroom this year!
While flexible seating promotes choice, physical health, comfort, collaboration, community and communication, it makes the storage of materials a bit challenging- especially in this era of Covid-19 concerns. The materials I have selected will help my students store school supplies in a safe, clean place. Canvas bags will be used as Book Bags, storing reading materials, pencil bags and writing journals.
