My Students

My high school is a composite of students from different minorities, with a vast majority of students who will be the first of their family to graduate high school. Only 28% of our students met or exceeded standards in mathematics and 61% met or exceeded standards in English language arts.

Every teacher at our school needs to rise to the challenge of supporting our students' improvement in literacy, mathematics and science.

One solution is to integrate STEM topics within the world language curriculum.

My Project

Offering an equitable access to education requires flexibility with the teaching instruments used for engaging high school students with relevant and affordable content. This project provides students engaging and relevant texts that connect with their experience of technology.

By reading stories in French related to the use and development of technology in other countries, students will compare their experience to the ones of teenagers in other countries, providing them with a context for learning about the impact of technologies across the world and how social media impacts communications in different communities.

This project integrates STEM within the French curriculum by linking scientific principles to the use and impact of technology in France and Francophone countries.
