This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is an elementary school that services students from TK to 5th grade. We are located in the middle of a diverse and dense urban community. Our school is located in the heart of Los Angeles a few miles from downtown Los Angeles.
We are a Title One school that serves low income families from different cultural backgrounds.
More than half of our students are from low income households. Access to a clean and healthy learning environment is a priority at our school.
My Project
A classroom full of students eager to learn is also the perfect place to cultivate germs and viruses if the classroom isn't regularly cleaned and sanitized. When students get sick it's difficult for them to focus one hundred percent on their learning and sometimes end up having to miss school. Research indicates that most of student learning occurs while physically present in the classroom.
To promote an optimal learning environment for my students keeping my classroom clean is one of my priorities.
The supplies requested will support my classroom community in maintaining itself clean and healthy to keep learning our top priority. I teach students to regularly wash their hands with soap, we wipe down or desks regularly with antibacterial wipes and facial tissue is a necessity year around for those pesky allergies and flu season. The following donations will help us maintain a healthy learning environment and support our growth as a learning community.
