My Project
The students in our moderate special education classroom face unique challenges, including a higher susceptibility to illness due to underlying medical conditions. Many of our students are medically fragile, requiring specialized care and often experiencing frequent health issues that lead to extended absences. These absences not only impede their academic progress but also impact their social and emotional development.
Maintaining a consistently clean and sanitized classroom environment is a critical component of our efforts to support these students.
However, our current school budget does not adequately cover the increased need for cleaning and hygiene supplies required to effectively minimize the transmission of germs within our classroom. The frequent use of shared materials, close proximity during instruction and activities, and the specific health vulnerabilities of our student population necessitate a more robust supply of cleaning and sanitizing products than typically allocated.
Without sufficient access to these essential cleaning supplies, we risk creating an environment where illness can spread more easily, leading to increased student absences and further challenges for our medically fragile learners. This will directly address this critical need and contribute significantly to creating a healthier and more consistent learning environment.
