Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a kindergarten teacher, I am given the wonderful opportunity to teach young children and build a sense of belonging. With that belonging, we create a classroom community where all students feel welcome and accepted. I want all of my students to know that they can succeed and achieve great things, even if it may seem hard, and they make mistakes along the way. In our classroom, students encourage each other and help each other through difficult tasks. I want my students to continually challenge themselves as learners and to see that they can reach their fullest potential.

Students will benefit from listening to stories about growth mindset and understand the power of 'yet'.

The materials I am requesting are books that can be read aloud to my class. They will provide us with great opportunities for discussion and allow my students to understand that they have the power to find success, even if it takes more than one try. These books will foster a growth mindset and show that mistakes can lead to great discoveries of abilities and potential.
