This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am currently a third-grade teacher to amazing students in a low-income community. I have the same students from last year because I was given the opportunity to loop with them. I am so thankful for that. Aside from being in the Class Champions and Coyotes Reading program, they are students that strive to be their best selves each day.

My students set high standards for themselves and push themselves to be their very best each day.

We are an extremely close classroom with much to celebrate.

My Project

At the end of each school week, we have what we call "Thrilling Thursday" time as a school. This is a short time period when students can choose an activity they are interested in: art, using the Chromebook, playing with Legos, using slime, etc. I am seeking new items to use for this specific time that my students will enjoy. Many of my students love the Bakugan toys and I feel that will be very popular with them. The outdoor games will promote community and teamwork; I know many of them love simple games like Tic Tac Toe. I am also wanting stress balls for students to use as well; I have noticed students asking for these during this time and we are in need of some. These materials will promote fun and positive mental health in our community!
