My Project
I am teaching a self-contained, low-incidence, special education classroom for 13 students. These 13 students have moderate to severe disabilities that include autism, intellectual disabilities, speech and language impairments, fine motor and other health impairments. Each student has diverse needs and requires an individualized curriculum. My students need a maximum amount of modifications and accommodations to help complete tasks.
My goal is to be able to gather enough material from Teachers Pay Teachers to create structured resources that not only promote independence but foster skills development across various subject areas that target reading skills, math skills, fine motor skills, as well as social-emotional skills.
Independent task boxes can help students to develop a sense of pride and ownership of their work knowing they are able to complete and master tasks independently.
