Promethean Board Projector Lacks Pop and Gets Punchy
My students need a projector for our Promethean Board because the one we have now constantly cuts out and is too dim to read consistently.

My Students
We want to be able to actually use our interactive white board in class. It is very difficult to use my Promethean board when my students cannot differentiate between operation signs because the projector is far too dim. Also, it likes to randomly cut out multiple times per class, during notes.
My students have spent their lives in a habitually underperforming, urban school.
However, we have gotten rid of our "empowerment" moniker after multiple years of success. My students are succeeding, even though they all qualify for free lunch. They love listening to hip-hop and freestyling as they go, often using this skill to complete science projects.
We are a small, neighborhood elementary school with K-8 students, where everyone knows each other, students and staff included. My students complete community service projects on a monthly basis and often stay after school to work with me in small groups or to participate in my robotics or environmental science clubs. Overall, they are good kids who just happen to live in a neighborhood that is a little rougher than most.
My Project
I am requesting a brighter, fully functioning projector to pair with my Promethean interactive white board. One issue I currently encounter in my room is a constant failure of my projector, cutting out randomly, and often at the most inopportune times. I have been told by my district tech support that the issue is hardware-related.
The other issue I face is that, when viewing a document on the board, my students cannot differentiate between the different operation signs in equations, because the image on the board appears washed out. I have tried multiple times to adjust all of the settings, and have gotten no where.
Because we have recently improved so much as a school academically, we will not be receiving quite as much funding next year, and there is definitely no room in the budget for us to replace a projector that still, sometimes, gets the job done. I need your help to continue to reach my students and show them that people care that they are improving.
My students will be greatly impacted by this projector because it will show them that people share their commitment toward continuing to succeed.
Also, as I try to use my interactive white board every day, it will continue to improve the quality of my lessons, as they will no longer be interrupted by a jittery projector or an impossible-to-read screen.
