Prolific Writers Need Pencils!

My students need pencils to ensure that they always have a way to record their brilliant thoughts and ideas!

My Students

My third graders are incredibly thoughtful, creative, confident writers, but we are constantly running out of pencils!

I am the I am the proud teacher of 32 fantastic third graders at a public elementary school where 90% of students are English Language Learners and 100% qualify to receive free school breakfast and lunch.

School wide, only 28% of our kids are reading and writing on grade level. In a struggling public school where low expectations permeate our environment, my class is determined to work relentlessly to meet our big goal: we will ALL grow 1.5 years as readers and writers, and pass the state ELA exams!

My Project

As my prolific, hard-working students produce brilliant writing, they are too often interrupted by our constant lack of pencils! Unfortunately, our school cannot afford to supply enough pencils for my third graders and their incredible imaginations!

Having enough pencils will allow my kids to write without stopping.

Interruptions caused by lack of pencils are frustrating, and waste our precious learning time. Your generous support will supply my students with the materials they need for success!
