Our school is the only one in our district that is a museum and communications magnet school. Our students come from diverse environments but the majority are low socio economic backgrounds. They are exposed to creating artifacts and being able to articulate to diverse audiences explanations of their creations and why they were created. Even in Pre-K they create and display their unique ideas in our talking hallways and inside our classrooms.
A laminator and pouches will allow their creations to last a lifetime.
Students exude so much pride when they see their designs on display. This helps to boast their self esteem and gives them both joy and pride as they develop new concepts. Each unit taught allows them to create something and assists with their their long term memory of lessons learned. Our students are exposed to creating unique artifacts that are as special and unique as they are. This gives them encouragement to keep pushing for greatness.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
