This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are unique and talented individuals. However, sometimes they don't even know it! My job is to nurture their creativity and help them create something beautiful and meaningful through music.
Every single one of my students is special.
They come from low income backgrounds. Most have never held an instrument or sung a song before entering my music classroom. Many speak different languages. They have never heard music before the year they were born. I reiterate - Every single one of my students are special. They deserve the best creative outlet and music education that can be offered to them.
My Project
My students absolutely love music and getting the opportunity to preform each year is a privilege and a pleasure. Unfortunately, due to certain restrictions, we are unable to have a live audience for our concerts and show this year.
So, we had to think outside the box - the projector box, that is!
This year in music, we will be creating movies and videotaping our performances. Our holiday production will be an accumulation of every single class participation, and believe me, when I say, there is singing! There is dancing! There are props and costumes and lighting! There's just no way to view the performances when all is said and done and complete. I want a way to share our creation with the whole school!
This is where my students ask for help. We are asking for a projector, screen and cable so we can have a viewing party of all the amazing and awesome shows, concerts and productions this year. With the projector and screen, we will be able to stream the students' hard work and be able to share it with other classes. We thank you in advance for your help!
