My students need to be exposed to technology in their classroom. Currently, we have the old-school black chalkboard. I want interesting lessons that uses technology.

My Students
It must be really boring listening to a math lesson when the teacher only has a 3' by 6' chalkboard that has cracks and tape stuck to it! Instead, wouldn't it be nice to participate in the same lesson with a technological spin to it? Students could learn how to subtract with videos and songs.
My students are 2nd graders at an urban, public school in PA.
They are all eager to learn. They're creative learners. Most of them are reading at or above grade level. Our school has the same structure since it was built in the early 1900s. My students come from families from a low-income economic status.
My Project
If my class was given a projector, then their everyday learning will meet the technology standards of our world. They will know how it works and how it is set up. I think this is important because they need to be competitive in this growing technological world. I will be able to prepare lessons that promote higher-order thinking and reaches out to the diverse learning styles. Also, I will be able to stream videos of current events,so that my students are well-rounded. Our classroom needs to be updated with technology. It is unacceptable to have an old-school chalkboard in 2013!
If you want a world that consists of people who can think for themselves and understand the basics of technology, then every classroom should be equipped with at least a projector.
Please help broaden my students' minds so that they can compete in this technological world.
