This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Special Education in a low-income Title One school in North Miami. Most of my students are on free or reduced price lunch and many don't have access to the materials they need to prosper in the General Education setting, much less in the Special Education setting.
These children are eager to learn and curious to see what new things they'll be learning about this school year!
Due to Covid-19, I have realized the need to be prepared for any and everything. Part of this preparation includes having the ability to be mobile and portable. This projector will be used in the case that the current projector doesn't work, but also to enhance any multidisciplinary lessons.
The hand soap will be used in our hand washing station to continue promoting proper hygiene.
My Project
The projector will be used to enhance any multi-disciplinary lesson! Also, in the case that our current classroom projector stops working or if our school loses power, we have a backup! The headphones will be used in our computer station and the soap in our hand washing station. Access to soap is vital when the students are constantly washing their hands throughout the day. The headphones allow the students to have headphones assigned to them that they can use for the entire school year and can take home over the summer.
