My students need to have the ability to project their projects and presentations they have created on Google Apps with a working projector and Apple TV.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to learn and engage in technology. We use Chrome books to help our learning and for projects. The students have many projects to present but our projector is questionable. Some times it works, some times it doesn't. Then we also have cords everywhere.
My students come from a highly diverse and low income environment.
Many do not have technology in their homes. The only access some students have to technology is in school. We teach the students how to use current technology to help them in school and with their learning. Since we are not a title-one school we do not get any extra money for technology or resources. Most of the computers and projectors are old and out of date. They do not get some of the nice technology other students get due to the lower socioeconomic area the students live in.
My Project
If we are able to get an Apple TV and new projector for my classroom, that will help my students present their projects and writing to their peers, parents, administrators, and community members. It also them to practice and learn how to present and communicate their thinking to others. This skill needs to be taught and practiced so they can be successful later when they are out of school.
With the donation of the Apple TV and projector we will have up to date technology that works and will NOT have tons of cords all over the place for students and others to trip over.
