Help me give my students access to visual learning tools to help support their growth!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. S. Garofalo's classroom raised $232
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are an inclusive group of both general education students and special education students who have a range of needs and learning styles.
My students are eager second grade learners who love school!
Being out of school this past year has really taken a toll on them, and the thought of going full remote this year is really impacting them socially and emotionally. My students are a mixed group of students with disabilities that impact their attention, focus, and ability to reach second grade standards.
These amazing students are visual learners, who learn best when they can connect to and relate to exciting lessons, and are motivated by hands-on experiences and tasks that help them develop their creativity and critical thinking skills.
My Project
I love using anchor charts in my classroom! We use them all the time during blended learning and remote learning. From teaching procedures and setting expectations at the beginning of the year, to mini-lessons throughout the year reviewing our learning, we use them constantly! I love that anchor charts can be both purposeful and creative at the same time.
Just like with any other learning tool, my students love interacting as we build our anchor charts together.
This could look like students providing examples, answering questions, using post-it's to track their thinking etc.
Having a projector would allow me to project and trace images onto chart paper prior to my lessons to build the outline of the chart. I must admit, I do not have the neatest teacher handwriting, so utilizing graphics, font and images that could be projected onto chart paper, and then traced would help me immensely!
I believe that in order to keep our students engaged, we have to make instruction visual and fun! Having access to better technology to make my anchor charts more visual would be an incredible resource for me to have.
