Help! Help! That's what my students are saying. It seems that there is not enough space in the front of the room for all the students that need to be there for one reason or another; and those in back tune out. A projector will help untether me from the front of the room and my current "technology"
Our school is a in a small farming community in the Southwest corner of Michigan.
This year I am blessed with a great group of 26 third graders! I have a wide variety of learners in my classroom but each and every morning my students walk into my classroom eager to learn.
My Project
The projector that I am requesting for my class will really change my teaching and benefit the children in my room. Right now the majority of my teaching is me in the front of the room at the overhead or whiteboard. While those are great for the students in the front of the room, those students in the back of the class tend to drift off more often then not.
One of the objectives with this project request is to connect the projector with my iPad. This will allow me to teach from anywhere in the classroom. Being untethered from the overhead and whiteboard will allow me to walk around the classroom as I teach, freeing me up to help students as needed. Sometimes all a student needs to focus is proximity to the teacher.
In addition to this, the zoom feature on this projector will make it easier for one particular student this year to be able to see my lessons more clearly as he has vision issues.
With your help, this projector will ensure that all the students in my classroom from the front of the room to the back of the room, and for years to come will have more opportunities for my individualized attention.
