Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English Language Learners from grades 2 and 3; they range from five different English proficiency levels (entering, emerging, transitioning, expanding and commanding). They are creative and enthusiastic students. My students come to school each day ready to learn and grow both academically and socially. They like to be challenged through hands-on, active, engaging projects. I am always amazed to see how students can learn and improve their English proficiency in shorts amount of time. It is so exciting to watch the students grow and learn, as they become successful students.
My Project
Through a combination of push-in and pull-out English language services, my ELLs gain experience and interact with English using visual, audio and hands-on methods. I have an Elmo and I am requesting an Epson projector that can be used with the Elmo to aid students in various projects, such as aiding the students in learning how to write personal narratives and viewing picture books use as models for writing.
By having a projector, I will be able to model the writing process for my students.
They will be able to see all the corrections that were made and then in turn apply it to their own writing.
