This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in the second smallest city in Los Angeles County. Our elementary school is 400 students strong. We have 1 percent African American and 98 percent Latinos. We have a 90 percent socioeconomically disadvantaged population and 4 percent foster youth. All of our students receive free lunch. Despite the many challenges they face, my students arrive every morning full of life, ready to learn, and excited to get started on our day. I do my best to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
Learning from home has become a challenge for many. We need so many resources at home that were easily available when we were in our own classroom.
My students and I are eager to start the year and begin learning!
Having a small portable projector at home lend itself to providing my students with increased engagement and better learning retention. A small portable projector will allow me to share and create daily lessons. This year I want to continue to foster my students' need as digital learners and digital natives.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
