This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second grade teacher in the city of Chicago. There are many challenges that face my students each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are from low-income families. The majority of our families fall below the poverty level.

Despite all of this, I am lucky to be working with a group of students who are eager and motivated to learn.

Their eagerness motivates me to find new ways to improve instruction. The pride and excitement on their faces as they are growing as learners is very rewarding.

My Project

In order to help engage my students, I need to incorporate more technology into my classroom instruction. Unfortunately, the funding to provide this technology is not available. Having a projector will help to make my students' learning more engaging and enjoyable. Through the use of a projector, my students will be able to see images and videos that will help to make learning come to life. Students, especially those with attention issues, will be more focused and attentive to the lessons that are being presented. The projector will be used to improve all areas of instruction.

In order to give my students the best possible education, I need to incorporate technology into the classroom.
