This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are my world and I truly believe that technology makes a difference in their academic growth. Having a classroom projector will allow them to visually see the world and learn about families all around the world.

My students attend a school located at the back of the yards.

This school lacks many resources that are very important for students academic growth. Technology is one of the many resources that this school lacks. My students are bright boys and girls and they are eager to learn. My classroom is both monolingual and bilingual. I have 22 Hispanic students and 2 African American students. I teach both English and Spanish which can be very challenging. I also have two students with IEPs (both students have a speech delay). All of my 26 students enjoy interactive and hands on projects.

My Project

Having a classroom projector will provided a wide variety of academic knowledge to my students especially my visual learners. In first grade the unit of study is families and I believe that it would be of great value for my students to visually discover the diversity and cultures of the world. Our study of unit for 1st grade also integrates other subjects such as math, social science, reading, and science. My students will benefit greatly by having a classroom projector which will be used for all of these subjects.

My school lacks many resources and this technology has helped many teachers achieve their goals which is to provide the best education possible to Chicago Public School students.

My students deserve this donation because it will provide a better understanding about the differences and similarities that families share among diversity and cultural awareness.
