This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Precalculus is usually taught from a textbook. NOT at Da Vinci Science. Students are engaging with the math on a higher, more meaningful level through projects. However, they need the supplies to be successful.

We use an integrated curriculum that makes multiple connections between the graph, the algebra, and the context of the problem.

My students have been under-served since the beginning of their schooling. My students come from low-income homes, many with only one or no parents. They are born with little social capital and are often underestimated by our society. My students work hard when given the chance, I know they will make a positive difference in our world.

My Project

I am requesting several supplies that enrich the learning process by making Precalculus both more engaging and more meaningful. Because we are a Project Based Learning school there are many supplies we need that go into making our projects successful. Our next project will involve graphing sinusoidal phenomena (light waves, radio waves, etc.). These supplies will allow my students to construct creative graphical timelines that tell the story of the mathematics involved.

By purchasing these supplies for my students you are allowing me to get them more excited about higher level mathematics.

Instead of taking notes in a notebook, students will record their learning in flipbooks and through projects. These supplies will make that type of creative and engaging learning possible!
